Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Marriott International have agreed to bring the W Hotels brand to Macau.

The W Macau – Studio City will open by the end of the year.

Marriott International’s Greater China president, Henry Lee, stated: “Macau’s super-charged energy and unique identity as an entertainment hub, together with its mix of eastern and western culture, makes it a natural fit for W Hotels.”

W Macau – Studio City, located in the heart of Cotai, will be the pulsating focal point of Studio City Phase 2, a multi-complex development that will comprise indoor and outdoor water parks, cineplexes, and state-of-the-art MICE facilities.

The W Macau – Studio City will have 557 guestrooms, including 127 suites, as well as recreational facilities such as a spa, fitness centre, and indoor swimming pool.

Two destination dining locations are planned for the hotel, one serving international cuisine with an Asian twist and the other serving the finest Chinese and Portuguese cuisines.

“Melco is thrilled to welcome W Hotels to Studio City and Macau,” said David Sisk, chief operating officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s Macau Resorts.

“W Hotels is without a doubt one of the world’s most iconic luxury lifestyle brands, and we expect the hotel to elevate Studio City’s hospitality offerings to a new level.

“Together we look forward to bringing new experiences to our guests and further strengthen Macau’s proposition as a world-class leisure destination.”

Under the W Hotels brand, Marriott International presently operates nine properties and apartments in Greater China.
