Emirates Airlines, a Dubai-based airline, has announced that travellers visiting in Dubai between October 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022 will receive complimentary day passes to Expo 2020.
Travelers with a six-hour layover connecting in Dubai are also eligible for the incentive.
Each passenger will be given a one-day pass that will provide them entrance to the Expo 2020 site but will have no monetary value, meaning it cannot be exchanged for cash or sold.
Passengers who want to take advantage of the offer must first fill out a form on the Emirates website, after which the airline will email them the pass.
The ticket will no longer be valid in the event of a flight cancellation or change, but travellers can obtain a new one, according to the airline’s website.
With only three months till the start of Expo 2020, dubbed “The World’s Greatest Show,” tickets went on sale globally on July 18. The six-month event is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2021.
One-day tickets cost AED 95 ($26), multi-day passes cost AED 195 ($53) offering unrestricted entry for a period of 30 consecutive days, and season passes cost AED 495 ($135) for unlimited entrance for the entire six months.
Tickets are free for children under the age of 18 and students who have a valid student ID from any academic institution across the world. People of determination will also receive free tickets, as well as a 50% discount on their companion’s ticket.
The Expo was originally scheduled for October 2020, but it was postponed until October 2021 as governments and health agencies throughout the world battled to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The Dubai Expo will be open from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m. weekdays (Sunday through Thursday) at 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on the weekends (Friday and Saturday).
Expo 2020 will provide visitors with a diverse range of events and exhibits from a number of industries. There will also be weekly themes corresponding to contemporary global challenges and human areas of research, ranging from space flight to water and climate change, as well as a week dedicated to biodiversity.
The six-month mega-event will also include pavilions and exhibitions where visitors may enjoy parades, festivals, concerts, and showcases focusing on art, culture, food, and technology, among others.
