Families are enjoying the holiday season, and thoughts are going to sunny climates for 2022, so travelers seeking for their next vacation should check for financial protection before booking.
According to research conducted by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, 74% of respondents believe ATOL protection has become more vital since the pandemic.
A simple approach to protect a vacation is to book a package holiday that is financially covered by the ATOL scheme.
If the travel company you booked with goes out of business, you will either receive your money back or, if you have already started your vacation, you will be allowed to finish it at no additional expense.
Always double-check that your travel operator is an ATOL holder before making a reservation.
This can be done on the Civil Aviation Authority of the United Kingdom’s website.
While ATOL-protected package holidays offer the most financial security, there are alternative options for arranging vacations.
“With many travellers considering ATOL protection more important since the pandemic, we want to make sure consumers are aware of the financial protection that ATOL provides,” said Michael Budge, head of ATOL at the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
“While travel has not yet normalised, we’re asking holidaymakers to make smart decisions for their well-earned breaks by booking ATOL protected trips.”
