Anantara is gearing up to make its debut in Anji County, Zhejiang Province’s northwestern region.
Anji County, a renowned destination for environment enthusiasts and regarded as an eco-tourism destination, is located three hours from Shanghai.
Anji has been certified as an ecology-friendly city because of its cooler climate, clean air, and breathtaking landscape. Residents have built a booming eco-friendly agriculture and tourism sector showcasing pollution-free green products such as white tea, alpine vegetables, and flowers.
With over 60,000 hectares of bamboo groves including over 40 different species, Anji is also home to one of the world’s largest natural bamboo forests.
The new Anantara Anji, which is set on 165 acres of land, is surrounded by emerald mountains and tea plantations.
The property will include state-of-the-art conference facilities, an outdoor swimming pool with bar, four international restaurants serving Chinese and international cuisine, and a full fitness centre, in addition to 162 guest rooms ranging in size from 53 to 216 sqm.
An Anantara Spa with comprehensive healing and wellness facilities, as well as a Zen pavilion, will be available to help guests restore their health and wellbeing, complementing the area’s natural surroundings.
Sustainable programming for the whole family, such as tree planting activities, will be offered, and will be organically interwoven with the resort’s facilities, making it a perfect location for multi-generational travel experiences.
Meng Fanhao of Line+ Studio, an internationally renowned architect who has been recognised for his inventive and imaginative ideas, designed the resort’s one-of-a-kind architecture.
Construction will begin in March and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
