Princess Cruises has canceled sailings across the world until December 15th. Also, it is extending its pause on cruise operations to at least the end of October as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to progress affecting the global travel sector.
All sailings in and out of Australia on Regal Princess, Majestic, Sea Princess, Sapphire, and Sun Princess are shut down through October 31st. This decision was taken considering the continued progression of Covid-19 and other decisions of various governments, health authorities, and airlines regarding the travel restrictions.
The President of Princess Cruises, Jan Swartz, said: “We share in our guests’ disappointment in canceling these cruises.” He also added: “We look forward to the days when we can return to travel and the happiness it brings to all who cruise.”
Princess Cruises offers guests refundable options
Princess Cruises is offering guests who have paid for the cruise refundable options. These guests have an option to receive a refundable future cruise credit equivalent to 100 percent of the cruise fare paid. Those choosing this option will also receive an additional non-refundable bonus credit equal to 25 percent of the cruise fare. An alternative option for the customers is that they can request a full refund for the amount paid for their booking through this online form. Princess Cruises has also offered to protect travel agent commissions on bookings for canceled cruises that were paid in recognition of the critical role they play.
