The Safe Travel Barometer has rated Emirates to be the safest airline in the world with respect to its COVID-19 response. The airline has a 4.4 out of 5.0 ‘Safe Travel Score’, coming in at number one among 230+ airlines that were evaluated worldwide. The Safe Travel Barometer is considered to be the world’s most comprehensive solution to benchmark supplier initiatives in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry for the post-COVID world 

Emirates have several enhanced biosafety measures

The final score was based on an evaluation of 26 health and safety parameters including safety protocols, traveller convenience and service excellence announced by airlines. Emirates have taken enhanced biosafety measures that include:

• the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits
• protective barriers at check-in desks and immigration counters
• personal protective equipment and new safety protocols for cabin crew and airport employees in customer facing roles
• elevated aircraft cleaning procedures including the frequent cleaning and disinfecting of aircraft lavatories every 45 minutes during flights, amongst many other measures.

The airline was also the first in the airline industry to offer its customers free COVID-19 cover to help them travel with more confidence. Their new booking policies offer great flexibility to their customers.
