Dubai Partners With Snapchat For AR Travel Experience

The Dubai Corporation for Tourism & Commerce marketing has collaborated with the famous multimedia messaging app Snapchat. The purpose behind this collaboration is to utilise the social media app to remind tourists of the incredible weather within the Middle East.

Travellers can use Snapchat to experience Dubai

Dubai is going to welcome back its travellers from July 7th as travel restrictions are easing up in the country. The collaboration will allow the Snapchat user to choose from four different augmented reality (AR) ‘Snapchat Lenses’. This has been invented in order to offer users an experience of famous destinations of Dubai (virtually). The popular attractions of Dubai include the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Al Seef and Madinat Jumeirah. The move will help spread positivity through the virtual world during the ongoing pandemic which has largely restricted any kind of outdoor movement.

“Dubai Tourism is delighted with the success of this creative partnership with Snapchat, which has helped sustain global interest and consideration for Dubai by reinforcing its position as a safe must-visit destination. Not only has this campaign spread positivity and happiness among travellers, but it has given them real motivation to plan for their next holiday to Dubai once the Covid-19 travel restrictions are eventually lifted,” said Issam Kazim, chief executive, Dubai Tourism.
