Marriott International’s luxury Ritz-Carlton hotel brand has planted its first flag in the Maldives, with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands on June 1.
Fari Islands, an archipelago on the north-eastern tip of North Malé Atoll, is and area well known for its untouched white-sand beaches and brilliant azure waters, swarming with marine life.

The resort is easily accessible by seaplane or a luxury boat ride. From Velana International Airport it is a ten-minute seaplane ride, or a 45-minute luxury boat ride to the resort.
The Ritz-Carlton Maldives is part of the picturesque Fari Marina with its pulsating Beach Club, boutiques and eateries forming the archipelago’s communal heart.
The resort is designed by Kerry Hill Architects, and is inspired by its natural environments. Elements of swirling water and ocean breezes, are fused into a design narrative that is rooted in the shape of a circle which is meant to represents the flow of island life.
The resort consists of a total of 100 one to three-bedroom villas, either set over sparkling waters, or nestled along pristine beach coves. Each villa offers spacious living spaces that through panoramic sliding doors, lead outdoors to a sun deck with a private infinity pool and breathtakingly stunning views.
At the Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, guests can dine at any of the seven distinct culinary venues. The resort offers a spa with nine treatment rooms, a comprehensive tennis program which includes coaching, a dive centre, variety of adventures with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment Program, a complete kid’s club, apart from its wellness and fitness outlets.
