Singapore Tourism Board has partnered with Tripoto, a social travel platform, to launch a microsite within the latter’s website, according to Economic Times. Despite the Covid-19 situation and the stall in travel, this launch aims to keep Singapore in the minds of the Indian audience. With the content that encourages Indian travelers to “Rediscover Now, Travel Later”, the microsite is a one-stop guide.
How does the microsite function?
One key highlight of the Microsite is the ‘Singapore@home’ that invites the audience to explore the virtual experience of some attractions in Singapore and tourist offerings. Also, there is a collection of edutainment series ‘Try this at home, Tips from Singapore’, this features many Singaporean personalities demonstrating how to explore or further develop one’s passions at home is inspired by Singaporean’s diverse people, stories and talents. Adding an element of fun, the microsite has a section, Fun@Home, where the audience can have fun with a character illustration of Merlion, the tourism icon of Singapore, called Merli. Over time, the microsite will showcase how various tourism businesses in Singapore are preparing to resume business and embrace the “SG Clean” certificate program in maintaining high standards of sanitation, hygiene, and response measures.
The Regional Director Of India, Middle East & South Asia, Singapore Tourism Board (STB), GB Srithar, speaking of the digital initiative with Tripoto stated: “Although travel restrictions are still in place, it is important for destination brands to continue with engaging consumers creatively and staying connected. Over the last few years, the STB has increasingly used digital marketing in our destination promotion efforts. We are happy to collaborate on this endeavor – a first of its kind microsite by a National Tourism Organization on the Tripoto’s platform. ”
The Co-Founder of Tripoto, Michael Pargal Lyngdoh, also added: “We are excited to partner once again with the Singapore Tourism Board and launch a microsite to showcase the exciting experiences awaiting the Indian traveler in Singapore. COVID-19 has paused all our travel plans but it is a great time to explore and plan future holidays for when the restrictions are lifted. The microsite has a plethora of information, videos, articles, and photos that will introduce our users to Singapore if they haven’t been before and renew their interest in visiting the constantly evolving metropolis if they have. There is something for everyone in Singapore and we have created the platform for people to choose experiences based on their interest. There are immersive videos to transport you in section Singapore@Home, engaging games in Fun@Home, a place to join a community of like-minded travelers, and much more content to discover. The safety of our users is of primary concern and the site will feature all the latest information on safe smart travel.”
