Hyderabad Airport Launches E-Boarding Facility For International Flights

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) was the first and only airport in India to provide end-to-end paperless e-boarding to domestic passengers. The airport has now extended this provision to international flights becoming the first airport in the country to do so.

The government first approved this facility based on an extensive and successful pilot programme. After that, RGIA airport started these e-boarding facilities for international passengers.

These are available on select international flights of IndiGo

IndiGo Airlines is a key partner in this programme. The carrier commenced this facility on October 2 when their Sharjah-bound passengers e-boarded themselves from Hyderabad on the 6E 1405 flight.  Other international carriers are also in the process of integrating the airport’s e-boarding programme. 

Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL, said, “Leveraging tech-enabled solutions to continuously elevate passenger experience is our key focus area. In Iine with this, for five years we have been successfully operating e-boarding for domestic flights. Hence, now we have launched the e-boarding solution for international operations as well – another first for any Indian airport.”
