RwandAir has inked a significant new codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines as part of its ongoing global expansion. The new codeshare partnership will offer customers of the African airline more travel options and seamless connections in Kigali and Istanbul.

Customers of RwandAir travelling from Africa can now easily connect to Turkish Airlines’ extensive network of over 300 global destinations, enhancing Africa’s global connectivity. Customers of Turkish Airlines arriving in Kigali can now enjoy a seamless connection to the remainder of RwandAir’s African network as a result of this codeshare agreement.

CEO of RwandAir Yvonne Makolo stated, “We are incredibly excited to have signed this new codeshare agreement with one the world’s largest and leading carriers, Turkish Airlines.“

This historic change will not only give our customers access to the 124 countries served by Turkish Airlines, but it will also enhance connections for inbound African travellers via our extensive continental network.

“RwandAir is always exploring new commercial opportunities to expand its reach into markets which can deliver financial return and benefit our growing customer base.” Currently, Turkish Airlines provides daily service between RwandAir’s base in Kigali and the carrier’s headquarters in Istanbul.

This agreement follows the recently launched codeshares between the African airline and prominent airlines such as Qatar Airways and British Airways. From its centre at Kigali International Airport in the heart of Africa, RwandAir is renowned for its on-time performance, customer service, and safety.

RwandAir serves 24 destinations in East, Central, West, and Southern Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia at present.
