Qatar’s Visa on Arrival policies were reinstated on December 23, replacing the Hayya card requirements imposed for the FIFA World Cup in the country. Following the conclusion of the mega sporting event, visitors from more than 95 countries will be able to enjoy Visa on Arrival and explore new attractions that have opened in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Indian visitors can also get a free visa on arrival in Qatar if they meet certain requirements. Citizens of India, Pakistan, and Thailand can obtain a free visa on arrival in Qatar for a maximum stay of 30 days or according to hotel reservation under the following conditions: a valid passport valid for at least six months, confirmed return tickets, and confirmed hotel reservation through the ‘Discover Qatar’ website only. Other websites’ hotel reservations are not accepted.

Some of the most well-known hotspots from the football tournament are still open and ready to welcome visitors from all over the world in Qatar. Travelers can enjoy the sights of the Doha Port and Corniche, as well as the various cuisine and culture on offer in Souq Waqif and Katara Cultural Village.

“Looking back at the end of a truly remarkable month of celebrations, we are so proud to have hosted some of the year’s most memorable moments,” said Haya Al-Noami, Head of Promotions Sector, Qatar Tourism. “We are confident that Qatar’s iconic attractions, warmth and openness, and infectious enthusiasm will continue to draw in visitors and residents toward the end of the year and into the next.”

A valid passport, a confirmed round-trip ticket, and a confirmed hotel reservation in one of the country’s hotels during the visit period are the general entry requirements for Visa on Arrival in Qatar for the 95 countries. Citizens of Qatar’s neighbouring countries – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates – will continue to be able to enter the country without a visa as long as they have a passport valid for at least six months.
