Qatar Airways, the Official Strategic Partner of Expo 2023 Doha, has concluded an adventurous six months with tremendous success. This year’s MENA region’s largest horticulture show promoted awareness about climate change and desertification through numerous exhibition displays, panel talks, and public activities.

The award-winning airline cooperated with Hamad International Airport (DOH) to develop and construct the stunning Qatar Airways Garden. The ‘Qatar Airways Garden’ was one of the most popular pavilions at Expo, attracting over 250,000 visitors over a six-month period, with Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport (HIA) playing a vital role in bringing people from approximately 170 global destinations to Expo 2023 Doha.

Visitors were greeted by a large yellow teddy bear, a famous homage to Lamp Bear, which is located at the award-winning Hamad International Airport, as well as major sites from across the continents covered by Qatar Airways, emphasizing Qatar’s pivotal role as an international hub.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group, stated that “With the successful conclusion of Expo 2023 Doha, Qatar is solidifying its role in hosting large-scale global events. Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport are proud to have contributed to the initiative, allowing us to welcome visitors from all around the world to experience Qatar’s warm hospitality and be a part of its promising future.”

Qatar Airways laid the groundwork for this historic occasion by introducing the Expo 2023 Doha livery to its fleet and celebrating its status as the Official Strategic Partner. Throughout the six-month period, the Qatar Airways Garden presented a variety of events, engaging experiences, and cultural performances that celebrated the world’s unique cultures. The airline also organised familiarisation trips to highlight the region’s major horticulture exhibition.

Onboard Qatar Airways flights, the airline welcomed Expo 2023 Doha with organic beverages from Evergreen Organics, a well-known Qatari vegan restaurant. In addition, Qatar Airways collaborated with local farms and Evergreens Organic to launch an a la carte menu for Expo 2023 Doha. OryxOne, the airline’s in-flight entertainment platform, also featured informative gardening shows and videos.

The pavilion also provided visitors with a unique opportunity to explore Qatar’s cultural and sporting landscape. The Qatar Airways Garden honored key cultural events, such as Chinese New Year, and commemorated its debut flight to Medan, Indonesia, with Qatar’s Indonesian population at its exhibition stand, which coincided with the Qatar-Indonesia 2023 Year of Culture.

Furthermore, on Qatar’s National Sports Day, nearly 17,000 visitors participated in engaging sports activations at the Garden, making the pavilion a destination for people of all ages and backgrounds. Qatar Airways also hosted football legends David Beckham and Ronaldinho at their pavilion to promote awareness about sustainability initiatives in Qatar and worldwide.

Qatar Airways continues to promote Qatar as a hub of international events designed for a wide range of audiences, including global travelers from approximately 170 countries, by participating in horticulture exhibitions and design displays.
