P&O Cruises Britannia, a guest favourite, has taken sail from Southampton after a multi-million-pound renovation, with the first guests experiencing the newly planned spaces and activities this weekend.

The improvements, which were completed earlier this month, come ahead of Britannia’s 10th anniversary voyage in 2025. The makeover comprises a revamped color palette across the public spaces, suites, and cabins; an enlargement of the Loyalty and Cruise Sales area; improvements to the Market Café’s space and eating options; and a considerable investment in the crew areas.

The Sunset Bar has a new warm color palette and additional seating, bringing to life some of Iona and Arvia’s distinctive design elements, while the children’s splash area will be colorfully upgraded with interactive water features.

Following the success of the luxury gelato brand Snowflake on Iona and Arvia, the Market Café will now serve Snowflake’s first gelato-filled doughnuts while at sea. Chocolate, strawberry, sea-salted caramel, praline, and vanilla flavors will be available, each wrapped in a freshly baked doughnut and topped with one of three different options.

Britannia embarks on a 10-year anniversary celebration trip from Southampton on June 6, 2025, exploring the British Isles (B514). Ports of call will include Edinburgh (Newhaven), Kirkwall, Stornoway, Belfast, an overnight stay in Liverpool, and Cork (Cobh), with fares starting at £1,099 per person based on two persons sharing an inside cabin.
