Good news for those who want to be able to communicate above the clouds. Lufthansa will offer unlimited free messaging on its short- and medium-haul flights beginning in mid-January 2024.
Travellers are then going to be able to send and receive as many messages, including photographs, on their own smartphone or tablet during their journey on A320 family aircraft equipped with WLAN – all for free!
From mid-January, the pricing for all other Internet packages on board, such as streaming, will be slashed by about 50%.
“Lufthansa is investing around two billion euros in product and service improvements. In the process, we have implemented and planned many large, medium, and also smaller initiatives that make travelling with Lufthansa an even better experience,” says Heiko Reitz, CCO of Lufthansa Airlines. “One great example is Free Messaging. I am pleased that our guests will in future be able to stay in touch with their relatives or business partners above the clouds – free of charge.”
The new free service requires logging into FlyNet with a Miles & More service card number or an e-mail address registered with the Lufthansa Group Travel ID. During the flight, you can also create a new login or registration.
