Over the holiday weekend, LEGOLAND® New York Resort unveiled its newest attraction, the highly anticipated LEGO® City Water Playground, with a typhoon-sized impact party to celebrate the arrival of summer! Hosts Slidin’ Ryan and Matty Splash, clad from head to toe in scuba gear, inflatable tubes, swimmies, and pool noodles, introduced a brand-new LEGOLAND New York character, Shark Suit Guy, who led the audience in a massive wave of water and bubbles to inaugurate the new attraction!

The hottest site to cool off this summer is now open to families. After a day of riding, driving, climbing and building under the summer sun, the Water Playground is the perfect oasis for families to chill off, build and race a LEGO® boat and slide down 318-gallon water buckets. A nearby changing area enables guests to dry off and continue investigating the seven LEGO®-themed lands and must-see attractions of the Park. The LEGOLAND® Hotel pool is also open for the season, allowing water-loving families to cavort and play until nightfall.

LEGOLAND New York Resort Divisional Director Stephanie Johnson stated:

We’re as eager as our guests to kick off summer with the debut of our long-awaited LEGO® City Water Playground. We’ve developed this exciting new attraction in response to direct feedback from our guests asking for a place to cool off, but our Water Playground is so much more. Like all of our attractions, our Water Playground aims to give families interactive, creative opportunities to build, play, splash and learn together.

Since its opening in 2021, LEGOLAND® New York Resort has found new ways to surprise, amuse, and support every family that passes beneath its iconic entrance arch. LEGOLAND New York opened for the 2023 season as a Certified Autism Centre, accredited by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), just like its sibling North American LEGOLAND Resorts in Florida and California. Every attraction has a Sensory Guide that indicates whether there are bright lights, loud noises, or any other element that visitors may need to plan around. At the entrance to the Water Playground, visitors will find a Sensory Guide, and they can relax in the adjacent quiet room with weighted blankets, dim lighting, and tactile toys.

This year, LEGOLAND New York Resort will introduce new events and bring back fan favourites, such as:

Red, White, and BOOM! (Summer): Five nights of fireworks starting from June 30. Summer Saturdays feature live music again in July and August.
Brick-or-Treat (Fall): Return of the Monster Party! The largest Halloween celebration for children at LEGOLAND New York will be held on weekends from mid-September to Halloween.
Holiday Bricktacular (Winter): Seasonal celebrations at LEGOLAND New York! Families will have the chance to meet LEGO® Santa and participate in a variety of holiday-themed activities, builds, and excursions.

The LEGOLAND New York Resort features seven LEGO-themed regions, including Brick Street, Bricktopia, LEGO® NINJAGO® World, LEGO® Castle, LEGO® City, MINILAND, and LEGO® Pirates. Highlights of a LEGOLAND New York vacation that are not to be missed include becoming a Minifigure on the world’s first LEGO® Factory Adventure ride, chasing the red wizard out of the castle on the signature Dragon roller coaster, and mastering the power of the elements with Master Wu on LEGO® NINJAGO® The Ride. Guests can arrange a Vacation Package at the LEGOLAND® Hotel, located just steps from the Park entrance, for the ultimate multi-day LEGO vacation experience.
