Effective July 18, Hyatt Hotels Corporation has appointed Eben Hewitt to the position of Chief Information Officer. Hewitt will direct Hyatt’s Technology, Enterprise Applications, and Cybersecurity departments. Mark Vondrasek, Chief Commercial Officer of Hyatt, will be his superior.

Vondrasek stated, “Eben’s tenacity and drive will bring a fresh perspective to Hyatt and play a critical role in scaling our IT platform to grow and diversify our brand and guest offerings. Our guest-centered IT is grounded in active listening to the needs of our guests, colleagues and owners, and designed to enhance every part of the hospitality experience.”

Hewitt was formerly the Chief Technology Officer at Sabre Hospitality, a leading technology provider for the hospitality industry that serves over 40,000 hotels and resorts in 160 countries. In addition, he has held leadership positions in technology at Choice Hotels and O’Reilly Media.
