After a multimillion-dollar restoration, the Fairmont Mayakoba is ecstatic to present its exceptional new facilities. The refurbishment covered all guest rooms, casitas, and suites, as well as all restaurants and bars, the resort’s three beach pools, main pool, reception area, and lobby.

The existing children’s club was completely renovated, and a second children’s club was added. In addition, the resort presented two thrilling new restaurants in the main resort area and an exclusive new beach club with five new restaurants and three stunning new pools.

The restoration project’s crowning achievement is Maykana, the resort’s beautiful new beach club, which offers guests an elevated beachside experience in a modern setting with panoramic views of the Caribbean. “May” (from the Mayan culture) represents the resort’s desire to immerse guests in Mayan history and culture through the incorporation of air, water, fire, earth, and aether into the beach club. “Kana” (basket in Mayan) symbolises the basket that binds these things together. Fairmont has produced a “welcome basket” with Maykana that symbolises a home away from home.

Maykana’s expansive terraces, exclusive luxury cabanas, deep fire pits, and beachfront pools lend an aura of sophistication to resort eating and relaxing. The new food and beverage outlets at the beach club include Brisas, a restaurant with a Mediterranean flair that brings the element of air to Maykana with its calm terrace overlooking the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean. Aqua, which is surrounded by private poolside cabanas and specialises in Latin-influenced cocktails, embodies the element of water. Fuego introduces the element of fire to Maykana and is a bohemian ancestral grill inspired by Tulum. The signature restaurant of Maykana, Gaia, introduces the element of the earth to the beach club by serving a selection of fresh, local seafood from Mexico and around the world. Cielo provides the aether aspect to Maykana and is the beach club’s adults-only, lively lounge with the greatest views of the Mayan sunset. Each of Maykana’s novel eateries delivers an exceptional gastronomic experience.

Currently, the primary resort area provides two excellent cuisine options. La Laguna’s innovative approach to Mexican cuisine. This restaurant’s design reflects the fact that its skilled chefs combine traditional and contemporary cooking techniques. La Cantina – inspired by Mexican culture – will encircle guests with an open kitchen concept, an al fresco terrace, a vibrant lounge, and over-the-water decks overlooking the Mayakoba water canals, where they can taste genuine meals brimming with flavour and handmade cocktails. La Laguna, located in the heart of the resort, will be open for breakfast and supper.

The upscale Italian restaurant Bassano adds an air of comfort to Mayakoba. This restaurant concentrates on the most basic of ingredients – egg, wheat, and water – to create flavorful dishes. The restaurant’s exceptional menu features homemade pizzas, bucatini cacio e pepe, and fine wines. With an ingredient-driven menu that keeps visitors coming back for more and a wonderfully built outdoor pizza bar and oven, Bassano is an absolute standout on the property. Bassano serves lunch and dinner and is located adjacent to La Laguna.

As part of the ongoing makeover, the Fairmont Spa, beauty salon, fitness centre, and meeting and conference spaces will be updated. The new salon will be Mayakoba’s largest establishment. The spa will feature all-new furnishings, a brand-new front desk, state-of-the-art massage beds, and a botanical garden where visitors will be able to select their own herbs for their treatments and learn about their health advantages. In addition, the exercise centre will contain brand-new Technogym equipment, such as rowing machines and endless staircases. In addition, the Serenity Room will feature a juice bar, a lounge, and networking places to help guests relax. Last but not least, the renovated meeting and convention areas will have a brand-new look and feel, with local woods and sophisticated lighting.
