The frequent flyer programme of the official airline of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, has partnered with the largest aquarium in the Middle East, The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi. The Aquarium will participate in the “Miles on the Go” programme, allowing Etihad Guest members to earn miles for each visit.

Members of Etihad Guest may now instantly earn and redeem Etihad Guest Miles when visiting the Abu Dhabi aquarium and discovering a world of natural riches. Members can spend their miles and collect rewards on their credit cards by downloading the Etihad Guest app and attaching up to five Visa cards to their profiles. Members can earn 1 Etihad Guest Mile and 1 Tier Mile for every AED 3 spent on National Aquarium tickets or other qualifying purchases.

In 2020, the innovative and groundbreaking ‘Miles on the Go’ technology was introduced. Since then, it has earned numerous innovation and industry honours. In addition to the existing travel and financial partners in the Etihad Guest partner portfolio, members can now automatically earn and redeem miles at three Aldar Malls in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, as well as at a variety of entertainment, hospitality, and F&B partners, as well as at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Kim Hardaker, vice president of Etihad’s Loyalty & Partnerships, stated, “We are incredibly excited to announce our new partnership with The National Aquarium here in Abu Dhabi. It’s wonderful to be partnering with Abu Dhabi’s newest attraction, which is positively contributing to the environment through engaging and educating visitors about our incredible nature and marine life here in the UAE, and beyond. We’re always looking for ways to make your Etihad Guest reward experience even better, and with Etihad Guest Miles now available to use and earn at the Aquarium, members can put their miles to a good purpose and even be a part of their wildlife rescue programme.”

He added that there has never been a better moment to visit or enjoy all that Abu Dhabi has to offer, as more fascinating tourism and leisure attractions are introduced every year.

Paul Hamilton, general manager of The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi, commented on the new relationship as follows: “We’re happy to be reaching new heights with our new partnership with Etihad Guest, and we’re eager to share this experience with Etihad Guest members. The fact that Etihad has been named Environmental Airline of the Year for 2022 demonstrates that our values overlap, making them the ideal partners to help us develop new ways for people to interact with nature and wildlife. Guests will be able to observe our innovative Wildlife Rescue Program, which we operate in conjunction with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) and which strives to maintain the health of our maritime ecosystem.”

Etihad, the official airline of the UAE, serves over 70 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and North America. The Etihad Guest loyalty programme has close to eight million members and rewards travellers for flying and everyday activities through a global network of partners.
