The Disneyland Resort in California will start welcoming visitors from out of state starting June 15, the officials have said in an announcement made earlier this week. Post June 14, visitors will not require a California address to enter the park. The theme park had initially reopened to California residents due to Covid-19 restrictions that will soon be lifted. California’s public health guidelines did allow out-of-state guests in theme parks if they were fully vaccinated, and this was followed by other theme parks like Universal Studios, but Disney did not follow suit. There is no requirement for vaccination for out-of-state visitors to Disneyland once the park reopens to them, though Disney noted that the State of California “strongly recommends” that the guests get vaccinated or test negative for Covid-19 before their visit to the theme parks. However, face masks will still be required in the more closed or indoor areas of the park, along with social distancing guidelines of maintaining a distance of six feet and the proper use of sanitizers that are available throughout the park.
To also make the whole idea of social distancing easier and better for the guests, Disneyland has also come up with “virtual queues” wherein the guests’ place in the queue can be booked using the app. This has been implemented for some of their famous rides, such as Indiana Jones and will soon be put into effect for other rides with high traffic.
Until June 15 Disneyland is only open to California residents visiting in groups of three households or fewer. Guests visiting the theme park will still be required to book a theme park reservation in addition to purchasing a ticket for the parks, which helps to limit the park capacity.
Disneyland has also said that it will stop temperature checks from the 15th of June for both the employees and staff, and the visitors. The guests believe that this one step closer to returning to normalcy, and that they are happy to finally step out of their homes and enjoy some time with family members at such theme parks.
