As Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy lights the renowned New Year’s Eve Ball in Times Square, New York, and almost 100,000 passengers sailing on Carnival’s 24 ships join the celebration to ring in the new year, Carnival Cruise Line will usher in 2023 on land and at sea.

As the official cruise line sponsor of Times Square New Year’s Eve and as a musical sponsor and countdown clock sponsor for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” on ABC, Carnival will once again bring its brand of high-energy fun to New York City and participate in one of the most famous events in the world.

Emeril Lagasse, a partner of Carnival, and Duffy will be present to flip the massive switch that ignites the famous New Year’s Eve Ball. Duffy will be encouraging those in attendance and those watching from home to “Choose Fun Together,” which is also the slogan of Carnival’s 2023 marketing campaign that will be visible in Times Square. As they greet the new year by getting a jump start on choosing fun together with family and friends, passengers onboard Carnival’s fleet will each have their own fun – in significantly warmer temperatures.

“As we head into 2023, we have even more reasons to celebrate and so it’s appropriate that America’s cruise line be part of America’s most iconic New Year’s celebration,” said Duffy. “We’ve got two new ships joining the fleet next year, including the start of year-round service from New York in June on Carnival Venezia, which will offer our upcoming Carnival Fun Italian Style experience, and then we’ll end the year with Carnival Jubilee arriving in Galveston. We’re looking forward to continuing this exciting period of growth and building on the success of the past year.”

Duffy will appear on the Countdown Stage with the Times Square New Year’s Eve host at 10 p.m. hour to discuss the highlights of the stunning Carnival Venezia, which will dock at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal just a few blocks from Times Square and offer a variety of sailing options for passengers sailing from New York.

Carnival’s ‘Choose Fun Together’ Campaign Launches for the New YearCCL

The new Carnival campaign Choose Fun Together will be featured on the enormous billboards in Times Square, setting the tone for community in the coming year. By demonstrating many ways passengers may Choose Fun and find something of interest to everyone, whether sailing with family or a group of friends, the campaign highlights Carnival’s appeal across all age groups. Because we are most fun when we choose fun, together, the new ads highlight those unique moments of pleasure that can only occur when people travel together on a Carnival cruise.

The debut of the Choose Fun Together campaign coincides with the 2023 wave season for the cruise industry, which marks the beginning of the yearly cruise planning season for millions of Americans and travel agents.
