Royal Caribbean International and Inter Miami CF have entered into an unprecedented, multiyear partnership that will combine the fervour and dedication of the respective vacation and sports titans.
Royal Caribbean will become the Club’s Principal Sponsor and Official Vacation Sponsor. In July, the world’s largest cruise line and Inter Miami launched off the first phase of their partnership by officially welcoming football superstars and their families to Miami. La Presentación, the highly anticipated unveiling event, marked the beginning of a new era, with “Freedom to Dream” taking centre stage in a sold-out DRV PNK Stadium.
“Royal Caribbean started in Miami more than 50 years ago, and we have always had heart and passion for our community,” said Jason Liberty, president and chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean Group. “It’s been exciting to see Inter Miami’s success, including their recent Leagues Cup title, energize South Florida. As the Club’s Main Partner, we are thrilled to build on that momentum together and deliver memorable moments to fans around the world.”
Inter Miami CF Managing Owner Jorge Mas stated, “We are proud to partner with Royal Caribbean, an iconic Miami brand.” Royal Caribbean, a global leader in the cruise industry, shares Inter Miami’s innovative ambition. “Together, we will set the standard for the future of sports partnerships.”
Beginning with the next home game at DRV PNK Stadium, fans will see the partners coalesce on and off the pitch through stadium LED, in-game content, fan zone activations, the Club’s digital and social platforms, and more. In addition, local initiatives in South Florida will reflect the two teams’ shared commitment to the community they call home, building on Royal Caribbean’s decades-long track record of celebrating and contributing to the destinations its ships visit and Inter Miami’s commitment to using the power of football for good since the Club’s inception.
Inter Miami CF’s Chief Business Officer, Xavier Asensi, stated, ““We always look for the opportunities that will provide us with an authentic partnership, and this one is a perfect fit.” This partnership makes perfect sense for everyone involved: two local brands with global audiences and ambitious goals.
“Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami have won the hearts and minds of fans from around the world,” said Kara Wallace, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Royal Caribbean International. “Together as partners, the possibilities to reach more dreamers and adventurers are exponential from ship to pitch, especially as we look forward to the arrival of the new Icon of the Seas to Miami.”
The partnership follows a countdown to the beginning of a new era of vacations. Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is scheduled to make its début in January 2024, just as Miami welcomes its first icon. As the first-of-its-kind combination of every vacation, from the resort retreat to the beach escape and the theme park adventure, the cruise line’s best-selling ship welcomes families and adventurers of all types. Everyone can create memories together and embark on their own excursions without compromising, with record-breaking thrills, relaxing ways to unwind, a neighbourhood designed for young families, over 40 dining, drinking, and entertainment options, and more.
