In late 2021, Singapore reopened to international quarantine-free travel under the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL), which began with a limited number of counties and has since grown to include around 30.

On March 16, Greece and Vietnam join the VTL, and on the same day, more cities in Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as all cities in India, become eligible for the VTL.

Singapore’s Safetravel page can be found here.

The EEA’s travel history requirement will apply to every EU country, as well as Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. As a result, any eligible passengers who have spent the preceding seven days in one of these countries are eligible for a VTL to enter Singapore.

Greece and Vietnam will start their Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) applications on March 13 at 10 a.m.

Malaysia’s Penang and Indonesia’s Bali have both joined the VTL. In addition to the current cities of Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, any Indian city can apply for VTL.

VTP Requirements:

DocumentsSingapore Citizens, Permanent
Residents and Long Term Pass/IPA Holders (excluding Work Permit Holders)
Eligible Work Permit HoldersShort-Term Visitors
1. Accepted Proof of Vaccination*
2. Negative Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test or Proof of Recovery (for recovered travellers)
3. Valid Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP)
4. COVID-19 Insurance Policy✓ #
5. Valid Visa (for visa-required visitors)

MOM LTPHs may obtain an acceptance letter from the Vaccination Check Portal and present it in lieu of an accepted proof of vaccination.

# Eligible Work Permit Holders may refer to MOM’s website here for more information on the insurance requirements.

Passports aren’t stamped and aren’t even required for travel within the Schengen area. Because Singapore has no way of knowing where visitors have been in this area, the inclusion of the full EU/EEA makes sense.

Most potential visitors to Singapore must already be included in the VTL approved countries. If only they could make it even easier by requiring merely full vaccination without the need for pre- and post-arrival Covid testing.
