Singapore Airlines To Vaccinate Thousands Of Employees Against COVID-19

Singapore Airlines will soon be vaccinating its crew against COVID-19. Following in the footsteps of Dubai-based Emirates, Singapore Airlines has launched a bid to vaccinate pilots, gate agents, flight attendants and anyone whose job requires constant contact with people. The Singaporean government has offered all these individuals free coronavirus vaccines.

5,200 airlines have signed up for the inoculation

Singapore has purchased doses of the Pfizer vaccine that is administered in two shots. Singapore Airlines has revealed that 5,200 airlines have already signed up for the vaccine and inoculation will begin in a few days. After the vaccination, crew members will be subject to less scrutiny.

Goh Choon Phong, chief executive at Singapore airlines, said in a statement: “We are grateful to the Singapore government for making the aviation sector a priority in the vaccination exercise. This reflects the sector’s importance, and the crucial role we play in both Singapore’s economic recovery and the fight against the pandemic.”
