Shep, a Texas-based software firm that provides a browser-extension based communication platform for multi-national corporations, has been fully acquired by FCM-owner Flight Centre Travel Group.
This acquisition adds to the firm’s initial investment made last year.
FCM global managing director Marcus Eklund said, “At FCM, we strive to offer a best-in-class traveller experience at every touchpoint of the customer journey.”
“The Shep software has allowed us to extend that experience on third party websites, further building on the flexibility we offer customers that we’ve become known for,” Marcus added.
Shep’s addition to the FCM customer offering comes at a critical time as the organization prepares for the global launch of its much-anticipated new omni-channel platform, which will serve a multi-national client base spanning over 100 countries.
Shep’s co-founder and chief executive, Daniel Senyard, said: “FCM shares our passion for intelligent and ground-breaking technology that addresses pain points and vastly improves the user experience.
“We are thrilled and excited to play our part in supporting their vision for the new FCM Platform.”
FCM’s new platform, which was built in-house and is entirely proprietary, provides a comprehensive, internationally consistent experience with a superior level of choice, flexibility, and the opportunity to choose from a variety of integrations to meet multi-national and local needs.
Along with Shep, FCM will continue to improve customer experience by using its parent company’s major technology investments in recent years.
