The redesigned mobile application of SAS receives the Red Dot Award. This award is a testament to the design, functionality, and user experience of the app.

The Red Dot Award, one of the most prestigious and internationally recognised design competitions, honours exceptional achievements in design, creativity, and innovation. The SAS app has won an award in the Brands & Communication Design 2023 category, which is a testament to its intuitive user experience.

The SAS app has existed for more than a decade and is utilised by millions of travellers annually. SAS aimed to enhance the app in 2022 with a focus on enhancing the consumer experience. The application was created in collaboration with SAS’s consumers, and end-user feedback remains essential to the development process. The redesigned application was published at the conclusion of 2022.

“We are thrilled to receive a Red Dot Award for our app. This achievement is a result of the hard work and dedication of our talented team, and all supporting teams, who continuously strive to create innovative solutions that deliver exceptional experiences for our customers,” explains Charlotte Svensson, EVP & CIO of SAS.

The redesigned app provides a variety of new features, such as a streamlined booking process, travel recommendations, real-time flight updates, and simple access to boarding passes and travel documents. It also features enhanced navigation and an aesthetically pleasing user interface that reflect SAS’s new brand identity.

“When we started building the redesigned app, our goal was to provide a user-friendly experience that makes travel planning simple and hassle-free, through a beautiful and modern design. We’re delighted to see that our efforts are being recognized,” says Massimo Pascotto, Head of Prepare & Travel, Digital & IT at SAS.

The Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen in Essen, Germany, hosts one of the most prestigious and internationally renowned design competitions: the Red Dot Award. The award, which was established in 1955, is intended to recognise outstanding achievements in various design disciplines, such as product design, communication design, and design concepts.

The Red Dot Award is not only a symbol of design excellence, but also of exceptional quality and originality.
