Under the motivating subject “Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel through Entrepreneurship,” Oman is ready to showcase its thriving tourism industry at the Arabian Travel Market Exhibition 2024. The Omani delegation, led by His Excellency Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, is ready to showcase the newest innovations in travel technology and sustainable tourism practices.
This strategic involvement represents Oman’s key endeavor to create new international connections, exchange essential expertise, and prominently showcase its developing tourism potential on a global scale. With over 36 firms participating, Oman is expected to emphasize its distinct cultural and natural features, particularly the highly anticipated Khareef Dhofar season and different summer promotional activities targeted at luring worldwide tourists.
The exhibition will bring together over 200 industry professionals to discuss important subjects such as the future of aviation, luxury tourism, and the integration of artificial intelligence into travel services. Oman’s commitment to sustainable tourism coincides substantially with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This commitment is aimed at developing a travel sector that is not only financially lucrative, but also environmentally responsible and useful to future generations.
Haitham bin Muhammad Al-Ghassani, Director General of Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and tourist, stressed Oman’s ongoing commitment to growing the tourist industry and diversifying the economy. Oman’s tourism industry contributed 2.4% to the GDP and had a strong 36.7% increase in tourist arrivals in 2023. These data demonstrate Oman’s leadership’s strategic vision in promoting tourism as a key pillar of economic growth.
As Oman continues to embrace cutting-edge technologies and new methods, its participation in the Arabian Travel Market 2024 is more than just showing its cultural wealth; it is also about creating a standard for sustainable and technologically empowered tourism. This method promises to improve not only the guest experience, but also the long-term viability of Oman’s tourism business.
