Mumbai Airport Witnesses Spike In International Chartered Flights

During the Unlock 3.0 in August, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) had facilitated over 570 charter flights handling over 67,500 passengers. During this time, it connected to 34 international destinations and was operated by 26 airlines.

CSMIA played host to 22 international and four domestic charter flights

During this time, CSMIA played host to 22 international and four domestic charter flights transporting passengers to and from the country. The domestic airlines involved for the repatriation efforts include Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo & Vistara.

The international charter flights include Air France, Air Mauritius, Air Seychelles, Asiana Airlines,, Air Tanzania, EgyptAir, British Airways and Emirates. It also includes Etihad Airways, Flydubai, Kuwait Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Oman Air, SriLankan Airlines, Qatar Airways, United Airlines, amongst others. 

Out of these, the airport has witnessed the highest Air traffic Management (ATMs) for Indigo (domestic airline) and Emirates (international airline). These airlines have serviced over 33,700 and 9,200 passengers, respectively.

Furthermore, CSMIA has been following the health safety protocols as directed by the government to curb the spread of the virus.
