Kuwait International Airport Sees 1.06 Million Passengers


The Kuwait Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recorded a total passenger count of 1,067,674 in March. In a news release, Abdullah Al-Rajhei, the Acting Director General for Aviation Safety and Air Transport Affairs at the DGCA, stated that passenger volume at Kuwait International Airport decreased by 8% over the previous year. However, there was a substantial 7 percent increase in flights, and air cargo increased by 14 percent over the previous year.

During March, a total of 9,950 flights were operated to and from Kuwait International Airport, above the previous year’s figure of 9,283. The most popular destinations during this time were Jeddah, Dubai, Cairo, Dhaka, and Doha.

In September 2023, Kuwait granted Limak of Turkey a $764.87 million contract to develop a part of the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport. Limak’s responsibilities will include the creation of aircraft parking aprons, taxiways, and service buildings.
