India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector organisation under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism has proposed to support a mission called ‘Vande Bharat’. It is a repatriation program aiming at bringing back stranded Indians from different parts of the world.
Hotel to provide rooms at discounted rates for Indians returning from abroad
Hotel Samrat in Chanakyapuri has planned to provide 50 rooms at a special rate to stranded Indians who are coming from foreign countries. These are specifically for those individuals going through mandatory self-quarantine. The hotel is taking all precautions to sanitize the premises, according to the guidelines generated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Hotel Samrat is operational under ITDC.
Piyush Tiwari, Director (Commercial & Marketing), ITDC said, “Standing in support with the nation in this time of unprecedented crisis, we intend to offer support and care to the community. We have reached out to the government. with a proposal to offer a quarantine facility at one of ITDC’s run hotels at Chanakyapuri.”
In the previous month, ITDC also donated a sum of INR 22.50 Lakhs towards PM-CARES. As a part of their CSR activity, they are providing up to 2000 meals per day to healthcare professionals and others in need.
