ITB China will be postponed as confirmed by the organisers. The decision has been made as the country continues to battle the coronavirus outbreak. ITB China 2020 was scheduled to be held on May 13th-15th at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre.
A new date to be announced soon
The worldwide death toll due to the virus has crossed 2,000 worldwide. Over 75,000 people have been infected. New dates for ITB China will be released in the upcoming weeks. An official statement explained the decision to postpone the convention.
It said: “To ensure the safety of ITB China’s exhibitors and visitors, the organizers decided to postpone ITB China 2020, and in a responsible way allow all participants to make necessary arrangements in a timely manner.”
It continued: “The ITB China organizers will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates based on official assessments of the overall risk situation.” ITB China is the largest business to business exclusive travel trade show in the country. It takes place on a yearly basis at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre. Over the course of three days, the business travel trade fair focuses exclusively on the Chinese travel industry.
