Ireland has become the first country in Europe to allow fully vaccinated British citizens to enter and exit without having to undergo any Covid-19 tests.
From today, there will be no need to self-isolate if you are fully vaccinated.
“We are pleased to confirm this change in arrangements to welcome British visitors to Ireland from July 19th,” said Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has been tough on everyone, and these changes will afford many people an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends in a way that hasn’t been possible for a long time.
“Ireland’s tourism industry has adopted a safety charter to ensure the wellbeing of both our guests and hospitality workers. We wish all our British friends a safe and enjoyable visit to Ireland.”
British tourists will need to fill out an online Passenger Locator Form before arrival in Ireland, which will be checked by their air or sea carrier before departure.
Passengers may be asked to show proof of vaccination as well.
British tourists will need to show evidence of full vaccination upon arrival in Ireland, such as their NHS App Covid Pass, a vaccination status letter, or their NHS vaccine paper card.
Passengers who arrive in Ireland without proof of vaccination will be required to show proof of a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours of arrival, and will be quarantined for 14 days, or a minimum of five days, if they prove negative with a second PCR test provided by the Health Service Executive on day five.
Prior to travelling to Ireland, children under the age of 12 will no longer be required to take a PCR test.
Even when travelling with fully vaccinated adults, children aged 12 to 17 who are not fully vaccinated must present a negative RT-PCR test result upon arrival in Ireland.
It is expected that indoor hospitality will resume in Ireland on July 26.
Indoor hospitality will be available only to those individuals who have been fully vaccinated or who have shown confirmation of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous six months.
From today, hotel guests will be able to take advantage of the hotel’s interior hospitality options.
