IndiGo Offers IATA BSP, First Indian Low-Cost Airline To Begin This Plan

IndiGo has recently begun IATA – Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) acceptance in overseas point of sales. This plan aims to increase distribution and make the sale process seamless.

This facility has already been rolled out in the UAE, the UK and Qatar

It will soon start in eight more overseas locations. Agents in these markets can use this service while conducting bookings on the IndiGo website and Travelport GDS.

The airline will be the first Indian airline carrier to make this facility available IATA Financial Gateway (IFG).

William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo, said, “We are pleased to enable the acceptance of IATA Billing and Settlement Plan. This will provide an enhanced yet simplified business experience to our travel partners. This facility will also allow us to expand our distribution reach to travel agents across 11 participating markets. We have started with UAE, Qatar and the UK in the first phase. Then we will expand to other markets. With this facility we will continue to provide a hassle-free experience to our customers and business partners. At the same time, we aim to make the process more efficient and seamless.” 

Travel agents who are interested in using BSP for sales of IndiGo tickets can connect with the  IndiGo account manager or the GSA office in the applicable markets. Once the required formal documentation is completed, agents will be allowed to use BSP.
