The government carried out its first major change in the Union cabinet since May 2019.

Gangapuram Kishan Reddy, who has been appointed as the new tourism minister of India has additionally been given the task of development of the North-East region. Besides tourism, he has also been assigned the responsibility of Ministries of Culture. Reddy post the oath ceremony tweeted;

“I express my deep sense of gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @NarendraModi for the trust reposed in me. I will sincerely make an endeavour to live upto his expectations & that of my people,”

Jyotiraditya Scindia on the other hand has been appointed as the union civil aviation minister, replacing Hardeep Singh Puri who now has been appointed as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs. The major challenge for Scindia coming his way is to revive the sector and get it back on its feet.

General (retired) VK Singh has been appointed as the minister of state for civil aviation in the Cabinet reshuffle.

The Prime Minister has picked up Ashwini Vaishnaw for the portfolio of Railways. In addition to that, he will also be taking charge of important departments of Communication, Electronics and Information Technology.

With this reshuffle, India is hoping for a better future and a revival in tourism.
