India Suspends International Flights Till March End

International flights to and from India have been suspended yet again. Reports suggest that all international flights will remain suspended until the end of March. The ban on international flights was initially supposed to end on February 28. Cargo flights will still continue to operate.

Travel air bubbles will function regularly

Further, all flights operating within travel bubbles will function as normal. Presently, India has travel bubble agreements with 27 countries including Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bahrain, Ethiopia, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Iraq, Kuwait, Kenya, Nepal, Maldives, the Netherlands, Oman, Nigeria, Rwanda, Qatar, the Seychelles, Ukraine, Tanzania, the UAE, Uzbekistan, the UK, and the United States of America.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issues an official order stating that international commercial passenger services will remain suspended to and from India till 11:59 PM of March 31, 2021. International passenger flights were first suspended on March 23, 2020, in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. The latest orders marks a year of the ban on international flights. Additionally, reports also indicate that regular international flights will likely not resume soon due to a resurgence in COVID-19 cases.
