Flights to Fiji for fully vaccinated overseas tourists will resume on December 1st, according to the country’s national carrier.
When Fiji Airways’ new Airbus A350-900 aircraft commences service from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Nadi, Fiji, it will be the first commercial flight from the United States since March 2020.
Los Angeles to Nadi flights will be daily, while San Francisco to Nadi flights will operate five times a week, and Honolulu to Fiji flights will be twice a week using the carrier’s Boeing 737 MAX.
According to government officials, Fiji is on course to vaccinate its entire working population by November. If regions of the country remain closed to international travel on December 1, the airline will modify its flight schedules.
Andre Viljoen, the CEO of Fiji Airways, said: “After almost two years of no tourism, we cannot wait to welcome back international travelers from 1st December and greet them with our famous Fijian hospitality. We can finally give our American friends a big bula welcome onboard our aircraft and safely transport them to a well-deserved vacation in paradise.”
Viljoen continued, “We fully support the health protocols and travel framework laid out by the Fijian Government for safety of Fijians and visitors alike. In addition to the measures announced, we have our Travel Ready program to safeguard the wellbeing of staff and customers, which includes mask-wearing at all appropriate times on board our aircraft and at the airport.”
Fiji Airways is partnering up with luxury resorts across the country to offer exceptional package holidays at up to 45 percent cheaper than 2019 prices, including the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau Island, to commemorate the resumption of service.
For a family of four, the starting price for ffour nights at the Sofitel Fiji Resort will be $3,499. This includes return flights with Fiji Airways, accommodation, all meals, transfers, and more.
