Expo 2020 Dubai is set to host an online seminar titled Expo Talks: Travel and Connectivity. This pre-event programme will constitute a series of panel discussions and talks. It will explore digital connectivity as a universal human right and connectivity across key sectors such as mobility, transport and logistics, governance, and education and travel.
Several experts will come together to discuss a range of topicsÂ
The event will be live streamed today between 10.30-1600GST and will focus on a range of topics that include smart mobility, artificial intelligence for good, virtual learning, remote work, data privacy and digital connectivity, and e-governance. These seminars and talks will bring together experts from around the world and provide a glimpse of how Expo 2020 will represent the theme of travel and connectivity across the six months that it will take place. The main question addressed during this event will be: ‘How will we balance the impact of the expansion of the digital world with our physical reality?’
The speakers at the seminar will include Reem Al Hashimy, director-general of Expo 2020 Dubai; Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline; and Hatem Dowidar, chief executive of Etisalat Group. Participant countries like Bhutan and Portugal will explore the future of sustainable tourism, while a panel on digital services and solutions in the new reality of Covid-19 will feature Kersti Kaljulaid, president of Estonia. Simultaneously, other participants will also host talks on their own channels.Â
