Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, announced today that it has added Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia, to its growing list of destinations, bringing the total number of Saudi gateways to four.

The airline plans to expand its reach by offering flights to one of Saudi Arabia’s most intriguing regions. Etihad Airways will fly four times per week from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport to Al Qassim’s Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (ELQ) starting June 24, 2024.

Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Arik De, stated that the new service to Al Qassim is a celebration of the airline’s 20-year connection between Abu Dhabi and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This relocation is consistent with the airline’s objective to provide outstanding experiences and the opportunity to discover the unique allure of both Abu Dhabi and our new destinations, such as Al Qassim. The airline isfeel honored to expand its services within the Kingdom and look forward to inviting passengers to experience its renowned hospitality and service.

“Furthermore, the exceptional experience awaiting them at Zayed International Airport – Terminal A, our new home, redefines the benchmarks for travel comfort and service excellence, ensuring a memorable journey from start to finish.”

Al Qassim, known for its beautiful date palm groves, rich cultural heritage, and bustling markets, provides the ideal blend of traditional Saudi culture and modern attractions. This new route is intended to suit the needs of both business travelers looking for new opportunities and visitors wanting an authentic exploration of Saudi Arabia’s historical and cultural heritage.
And there is more.

Etihad Airways will increase service frequency to a number of key locations beginning June 15, as well as launch flights to Antalya and Jaipur, which were announced in February.

The weekly flights to Thiruvananthapuram and Amman will be expanded by three, to ten and fourteen, respectively. Additional services include three more flights to Cairo, bringing the total to 24, an increase to 17 in Karachi, and 20 weekly flights to Colombo.

The latest expansion contributes to a 33% rise in Etihad’s total weekly flights, rising from 642 last summer to 855 in 2024, and broadens Etihad’s reach from 65 to 76 destinations, considerably improving global connectivity.

The updated schedule and new routes have been designed to improve the travel experience for passengers, who will benefit from increased connectivity and a broader range of travel options, as well as the opportunity to experience the sophisticated amenities and customer-focused services provided by the newly opened Terminal A at Zayed International Airport Abu Dhabi.
