The announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between DCT Abu Dhabi’s Director General for Tourism, His Excellency Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, and Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves.

The Abu Dhabi Stopover, which is exclusive to Etihad Airways, encourages passengers flying via Abu Dhabi to transform their free stopover hotel stay into the ideal vacation. The UAE capital is an interesting and handy stopover location, thanks to its world-class hotels, beautiful beaches, dynamic eating scene, and nonstop entertainment.

When booking flights with Etihad, clients may now include a stopover and choose a complementary hotel as part of the online booking process. Guests can select a complimentary stay for one or two nights in a variety of excellent hotels in the city. Stopover packages are only available when booked directly through etihad.com.

DCT Abu Dhabi’s Director General for Tourism, H.E. Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, emphasized the importance of partnerships in sharing the finest of Abu Dhabi with worldwide travelers. The Stopover programme with Etihad Airways provides an intriguing introduction to the emirate for curious guests. This creative campaign showcases the varied activities available here, from entertainment and culture to leisure and beyond, encouraging visitors to return and immerse themselves in the full Abu Dhabi experience.

We plan to bring more than 100,000 visitors to Abu Dhabi through the Stopover programme over the next year, and we’re confident that once they have a taste of what the capital has to offer, they will return for more. We are thrilled to be working hand in hand with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to showcase what the emirate has to offer to the world,” said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad.
