Delta Air Lines has a full schedule to make it easier for travelers to fly to Italy, including six new trips to Venice ahead of the summer.
Delta said this week that nonstop service between its New York-JFK gateway and Venice Marco Polo Airport will resume by the end of this month on a Boeing 767-300 outfitted with Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seats. This seasonal route will operate daily until the end of October, when it will be reduced to a 5x/weekly frequency.
Delta will also add two daily flights between its major hub in Atlanta and Venice this summer, providing US passengers more alternatives than ever to visit the City of Canals. These additional routes, which can all be booked on Delta’s website, bring the total number of weekly flights between the United States and Venice to 17 this summer.
“As one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Venice is hugely popular with U.S. travelers, and our flights bring valuable tourism and trade opportunities to the city and the region as well as unrivaled opportunities for Venetians looking to explore destinations across the Americas,” Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, Matteo Curcio, said in a statement. “We’re glad to offer customers increased choice this summer with flights from New York and additional service from Atlanta.”
The announcement comes as Delta plans its busiest transatlantic schedule for Summer 2024, with a focus on Italy and nonstop connections to four cities: Milan, Naples, Rome, and Venice. Delta and its European alliance partners Air France and Virgin Atlantic will be able to codeshare these new services, connecting tourists from hundreds of places across the world to Italy.
Delta’s newest airport lounge, set to debut in the coming months at its New York-JFK hub in Terminal 4, will cater to premium cabin passengers. The almost 40,000-square-foot space will include a year-round outdoor terrace, a chef’s kitchen, and other high-end amenities.
