Carnival Cruise Line CEO Unsure When Cruises Will Resume

In an interview, the CEO of Carnival Cruise Line revealed that he is not sure when the cruise line will sail again. As per  Cruise Critics, Arnold Donald CEO of Carnival Cruise line informed that there was a wrong message sent out that said voyages would resume on August 1. In a private interview he said that he doesn’t “know when we’ll sail again.”

What does the CEO say on the ‘restart of sailing’?

While the press release declared eight ships would start moving from the ports of Galveston, Miami and Port Canaveral, Donald informed the news was not “a pronouncement that we are coming back on August 1.”

Donald said the wrong news demonstrated to be  “one of the most insightful mistakes we’ve ever made,” which led to enormous bookings. This shows that a large number of visitors are waiting for the resume of voyages to sail again.

Also, Carnival assured that whenever its ships start to sail again, travelers and crew members will remain safe under the health and safety guidelines made with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.

“If we let the science community and the medical community do their thing in the coming weeks, there’ll be more alignment around what are the most effective protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19,” Donald told Cruise Critic. “Within that, along with working with others in the industry and the experts, we’ll be able to develop the protocols that’ll put cruise at the forefront in public health and again, great vacation experience.”

As Donald was asked about when he believes the cruise line will finally soar again,he replied that it is based on the ports it serves. As soon as the countries and cities all over the world start to resume tourism, they will resume their sailings.

“We’ll just have to see where it goes, but the destinations are going to rule the day,” Donald continued.
