Following weeks of bans, cruise ships will be allowed back into Canadian waters on November 1, according to the federal transport minister, who announced this on Thursday.

Minister Omar Alghabra stated to the media that cruise firms will be obliged to fully comply with public health laws if they intend to sail through Canadian seas and land at its ports, something that has been on the minds of several best payout casinos.

“We will welcome cruise ships – an important part of our tourism sector – back in Canadian waters for the 2022 season,”  said Minister Omar Alghabra.

According to the Cruise Lines International Association, the cruise ship sector has contributed over $4.1 billion to the Canadian economy and created 29,000 jobs in 2018. British Columbia accounted for about $2.3 billion in economic activity and over 15,000 jobs.

The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, as well as the industry, are preparing for a full reopening in 2022.
