Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) has recently partnered with Xovis and launched a tech-enabled Queue Management System at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/ BLR Airport).
How will this new tech-enabled system help passengers?
This system will help reduce waiting times, manage passenger flow during rush hours, and better operational efficiency. The Xovis PTS which is a passenger flow management system will also display live waiting times on the screens at processing points. This will ease the passengers and will also help the internal teams to manage and plan resources well ahead in time.
The Xovis 3D sensors will capture passenger flow coordinates at check-in, departure gates, Security Hold Areas, immigration of both domestic and international flights as well as visa sections.
Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Operating Officer, BIAL, said, “At BIAL, our aim is to make BLR Airport the most digitally advanced and efficient airport in the world. This system is part of BIAL’s vision to enable journeys, create experiences and touch lives as part of the gateway to a new India.”
Andreas Fähndrich, CEO, Xovis said, “We hope this is the first of many happy collaborations between BIAL, our team and IDDS – our partner in India. We look forward to continuing this collaboration should there be a need for system extensions.”
