Bahamas To Close Borders For U.S travelers Over COVID-19 Surge

The Bahamas will close borders to international flights and commercial vessels carrying passengers from the US. Private flight charters from the US along with pleasure crafts and yachts are exempt from the order. Also, travelers from Canada, the UK, and the European Union are permitted. Prime Minister Hubert Minnis confirmed the order considering the continued increase in Covid-19 cases in several states. This Bahamas order is effective from Wednesday.

Bahamasair airlines will cease outgoing flights to the US

The Bahamasair airlines will cease outgoing flights to the US starting immediately. After Wednesday, the outgoing flights are allowed to accommodate any visitors scheduled to return to the US.

For the other visitors, there are some mandatory rules such as all visitors are required to present a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test report from the referenced lab which should be taken not more than ten days before the date of travel. These restrictions are implemented to protect the health and safety of both residents and visitors and also to prevent the spread of the virus throughout the Bahamas.
