China Eastern Airlines and Amadeus have reached a milestone agreement for worldwide NDC distribution.
The agreement makes the carrier the first in the Mainland of China to sign for NDC distribution internationally with Amadeus.
Amadeus’ executive vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, Javier Laforgue, stated, “China Eastern Airlines is an important and valued partner. The agreement signed today is a milestone for Amadeus, expanding our presence in the key Chinese airline market.”
He added that the deal deepens Amadeus’s collaboration with China Eastern Airlines and will provide their global network of travel sellers with the ability to easily search, shop, and service product offerings from the airline.
China Eastern Airlines will be able to supply travel merchants with richer, more customisable material thanks to NDC technology, allowing for better upsell of its branded and ancillary items.
With access to the complete variety of unique offers and product qualities, travel companies all over the world will be able to give travelers more options and provide best-in-class customer care, leading in increased traveler confidence.
Meanwhile, travel merchants will have expanded access to enriched Chinese domestic airline content.

China Eastern carriers is one of China’s three state-owned backbone carriers, with headquarters in Shanghai.
