After a standstill year of cancellations and changes Cruise liners are welcoming vaccinated travelers who have been vaccinated. They will continue to ensure specific protocols they’re implementing for safe sailing. Both Passengers and Crew will be vaccinated before boarding the ship.
Celebrity Cruises while planning several itineraries for this summer will have its maiden sailing of Celebrity Apex in Greece from June. Celebrity Millennium will sail from St Maarten in June as well. All guests over 18 years will need to be vaccinated at least 14 days before embarking. A Negative RT-PCR test is required for passengers 2-18 years. The Cruise liner has added medical facilities with critical care and testing along with an increase in the number of doctors and nurses on board.
Cunard will open its cruises only to UK residents who are fully vaccinated. The Cruiseliner has upgraded its ventilation systems and has a strict mask wearing policy. Guests with pre-existing medical conditions will not be allowed to sail
Royal Caribbean summer sailing includes Israel, Cyprus, the Bahamas and Asia. Royal Caribbean will require passengers to be vaccinated at least 14 days before boarding and for guests under 18 years a RT-PCR negative test result is mandatory. The Ocean liner has electrostatic Fog cleaning systems and has enhanced its filtration systems. All Crew are vaccinated as well.
P&O’s summer plan is for short sailings for UK residents only from their home port in Southampton. Guests must have complete vaccination at least seven days before boarding. Masks are required when appropriate and shore excursions can be bought from vetted operations only
Princess Cruises will offer a series of “Summer Seacations” from Southampton, sailing around the UK coast this summer. All crew will be tested and quarantined and only vetted Shore excursion organizers will be allowed to take guest on their tours. Guests must be full vaccinated at least 7 days before boarding.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises – the all-inclusive luxury cruiseliner requires that all guests must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before sailing. Guests will also have to take a rapid antigen test before boarding and one more before disembarking.
Silversea Cruises has plans to do ten day itineraries from 18th June into the Eastern Mediterranean. As with the other Cruise liners all guests must be fully vaccinated before embarking and they will be tested before boarding the ship.
Protocols for shore excursions have been put in place.
Viking ocean and river cruises will sail around England, Bermuda and Iceland for UK residents this summer and require all passengers to be fully vaccinated to board. There will be PCR tests done at embarkation as well as throughout the itinerary.
Most cruise lines have made vaccinations a safe way to restart sailings, following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation that cruise passengers need to get vaccinated before boarding.
